Lyon's and Daniel Families of Virginia, from Scotland to the New World

The Families of Scotish Lyon’s and marriages connecting the Daniel family of Patrick, Carroll, Grayson Counties of Virginia. 
John (The First) Lyon, was born about 1649 in Scotland, died about 1683 in Dorchester County, Maryland.  Married to Margery who was born before 1673.
In the second generation, John(The Second)Lyon, was born about 1664 in Dorchester County, Maryland and died in 1702 in Dorchester County, Maryland, was married to Mary Martin, who was born about 1696 in Dorchester County, Maryland.  There were three male sons:  John (The Third) Lyon (1697-1784), Peter Lyon (1697-1764), and James Lyon (1698-about 1770 unknown).
The third generation consists of John (The Third)Lyon, was born 1697 in Dorchester County, Maryland and died 1784 in Caswell County, North Carolina, he was married to a Jean (unknown last name).   They had a son, Robert Lyon, while in Albemarle, Virginia.
The forth generation consists of Robert Lyon, was born about 1744 in Albemarle, Virginia and died about 1804 in Caswell County, North Carolina, was married to a Rebecca (unknown last name).  Robert and Rebecca had several children in their marriage: Anna, Jane, Mary, William, Temperance, Robert Jr., and John, there was a unnamed child as well.  
Anna Lyon, was born about 1764, near Patrick County, Virginia and she died before June 1, 1846 in Caswell County, North Carolina.    She was married to Nehemiah Daniel, Sr.   Nehemiah Daniel, Sr. was born about 1763, and died August 1820, in Grayson County, Virginia.   He was in the Revolutionary War.   He married Anna Lyon of Patrick County, Virginia.  He moved from Patrick County to Carroll County in 1809, where he bought 367 acres of land near Wards Gap.   The Children named in his will were: Rebecca, Clara, Tempa, Nancy, Sally, Robert Fanny, Drucilla, and Nehemiah, Jr.  Nehemiah was in Patrick County at the time that county was formed in 1791 and for many years thereafter. In 1809 he move to Carroll near Wards Gap and bought 200 acres from Jacob Talbot on Pine Creek (Grayson, D.B. 3-197). In 1816 he bought another 167 acres from Isacc Forkner and he next year gave his son Robert 100 acres of the Talbot tract (Grayson, D.B. 3-155; D.B. 3-468).

Another son, William Robert Daniel, married a Chloe Clark? Jane Gwinn who would eventually settle in the western mountains of Virginia, in Raleigh County of West Virginia.  They would have a daughter born approximately 1846, Mary Daniel, who married John H. Wykle, May 17, 1871 in Raleigh County, West Virginia.
